September 29, 2006, Newsletter Issue #52: Help! School´s out!

Tip of the Week

As parents (unless we´re home schooling) we tend to become dependent on school occupying our children. What do we do after school or during school breaks and vacations?

There are many options, just look around and find those that interest your child. Beware, however, not to overload your child with extra-curricular activities. Children can get burned-out just like adults.

Look into:
Little League
Dance lessons
Music lessons
YMCA and other "camp" programs
Scouting

Your child may also have a hobby which would allow him to meet regularly with other collector´s in a club situation:
Stamp or coin collecting
Book clubs
Poetry writing
Foreign language study

Ask your child and be creative!
